Necessary Sephora Indulgences

Sephora is such a guilty pleasure, I’m sure most of you reading can relate. When I was younger, I used to shop there literally once a week and get something new because I thought I needed make up to be taken seriously by people my age. But as I got older, I realized I really didn’t need any of that stuff. I have perfectly good skin (well, had) and if people didn’t like that I didn’t wear any, too bad. Now I wear make up because I like it and because I want to. I don’t wear it when I don’t want to and that’s that. Remember ladies, that is key! Anyway!

I originally went into Sephora to purchase a new eyebrow pencil since I misplaced the last one I purchased and got Anatasia’s Brow Definer in “Soft Brown”. I have never used Anastasia’s products but had wanted to for a couple of years so I finally took the plunge. Honestly – best eyebrow definer I have ever used. I don’t think I’ll go back to anything else except Benefit Cosmetics. I just want to see how long this definer lasts since I was using MAC before and it ran out so quickly. I find with this brow definer by Anastasia, that I don’t need to use a lot of product. A little really goes a long way and it looks incredibly natural, which is always a plus. This definer also has a brush on the opposite end – bonus! I find that this product makes it easier and quicker to apply onto my eyebrows. When I had my MAC pencil, I had to stand there and make sure it was perfected. This is naturally slanted so you can angle it the proper way you need to. Quick, easy, natural looking – what more could you ask for?

My second purchase wasn’t as intended as the first. I hadn’t bought any make up for “fun” in such a long time, that I went and decided to get myself the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in “Dusty Rose”. I’m a very pale person and although my cheeks have been getting a lot more red from my Cushing’s, I don’t have much colour to my face. This shade is a nice pink with a hint of a purple hue in it. It’s not super dark, but just the right amount. It’s the perfect mixture for my skin tone. I also never purchased a  matte lipstick and was pretty iffy on ever personally using one because it feels so uncomfortable, but this formula is absolutely perfect. It doesn’t leave me feeling like I can’t smile and that it’ll look like it’s cracking. This shade, for me at least, is perfect for wearing on the daily or out to special occasions.

It hasn’t even been a week using these products but I don’t need more time to say that I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for eyebrow or lip products. 10/10.
